Insurance Covered
Rest easy knowing that insurance is included in the cost of the hire. All vehicles are covered by full comprehensive insurance with an excess payable. This excess may be reduced with an additional payment.
Flexible Options For Your Business
No matter your task, you’ll get the right vehicle for the job at Handy Rentals. The flexibility to choose different types and sizes of vehicles means you can customise your transportation solutions.
Our trucks range in size from small which have 9 – 12 cubic metres of cargo space, to XL with 21 – 23 cubic metres of cargo space. While our vans go up in size from small which have 5 – 6 cubic metres of cargo space, to large with 9 – 10 cubic metres of cargo space. Some locations even have larger vehicles to choose from if you need that little bit extra space.
Vehicles come in varying layouts, with modern Bluetooth speakers, reversing cameras, automatic transmission, comfortable seats, air con, reliable motors and the option to add tail lifts. Choose from a six cubic metre cargo van to move your freight or tools, or a 20 cubic metre truck for whatever your business might need to move.

Vehicles Your Staff Can Drive
All of our quality trucks and vans can be driven on a standard car driver’s licence and have automatic transmissions. That means there’s no need to worry that your staff won’t be able to operate them. Handy requires a full valid NZ, International or approved overseas driver’s licence to rent a vehicle. So if your staff can drive a car, they’ll easily handle our vehicles. The minimum driving age is 21 years. And conditions apply for those under 25.
Free Kilometres
All commercial customers come with at least 50 FREE kms per day. That means no sneaky excess fees. When you book, we’ll let you know if there will be any additional costs.
Easy Booking and Fast Pickups
We know you have a busy workload, so we believe in an easy booking process, and a fast and simple pick up process – so your drivers can get on the road quicker.
Once you find what vehicle you need, book it for the time you want. Come in and collect the vehicle, do your mission and return it. It’s that simple. We also offer after hours drop off at most locations. There’s always free coffee and cold water provided on site.

Short Term Rentals: Handy Rentals can provide you with a vehicle for a short term rental, this option is great for replacing vehicles that are off the road for maintenance or excess deliveries, freight requirements or if you’re experiencing an extra busy period.
Medium Term Rentals: We can also provide you with a medium term rental, whether you’ve picked up a new contract, waiting on a vehicle to arrive or just need a bigger vehicle for your day to day business.
Leasing Options: Handy also provides longer term leasing options for our fleet, so if you have a bigger contract you need to fulfil but don’t want to commit to buying a vehicle this is a perfect option for you.
