It was fantastic to watch the city buzz with a real community spirit. Thanks to the Round the Bays organisers for letting us take part. Our sponsorship meant we could deliver the trucks and vans you needed to help out on the day!

Southern Cross Round The Bays
The event has been a beloved part of the Wellington fun run scene since 1976. People of all ages take part in the half marathon, run/walk, buggy and family walks. It’s an exciting way to bring everyone together for a fun, family-friendly day out!.
There was sunshine, a little cloud and the usual Wellington wind as people got their runners on and took their place at the starting line. Kicking off at Waitangi Park, the course tracked around the scenic bays of Wellington Harbour before finishing up at Kilbirnie Park.
This year over 10,000 people ran, walked and even danced around the capital’s coast. Congratulations to all the finishers!
For 23 years, the event has been organised by Nuku Ora, an organisation known for their mission to transform the wellbeing of the community through physical activity.
A highlight of the day is that it brings together organisers, volunteers, and the wider community who, like us, value the importance of staying healthy and active. A portion of the cost of registration goes toward three charity partners; the Cancer Society, Pause Breathe Smile, and Achilles New Zealand, and helps raise awareness for local causes that need support.
Handy Rentals Sponsorship
Handy’s trucks and vans were on the move to help volunteers deliver goods to the participants. Vehicles on the day were used to set up event signage, banners, tents and anything else the organisers needed to transport for the event. Our truck and vans were also used to transport the runner’s baggage to the finish line.
We were pleased we got to play a role in this year’s Round the Bays. Huge thanks to the volunteers and organisers who made the day a reality.
